Book swap date decision. [Jun. 25th, 2008|09:12 pm]

Next book swap will be on Wednesday 16 July (venue, time, etc, at that link). Apologies to those who won't be able to make it. Please let me know if you plan to come, and you have a dietary restriction/preference that isn't covered by the union of "vegan" and "plenty of meat".

There will be reminders closer to the time.

I have it in my diary. I think I understand what you mean there on the food front, but my first instinct was still to say that I can't eat vegan food if it has (plenty of) meat in it!

Union, not intersection :)

I do not understand maths! I believe these terms are mathemetical. Usually, union means bringing things together as one (unity), whereas intersection they are separate but come together. At least, that's what I imagine in my mind...

I have prepared a diagram, which I hope goes some way towards explaining the maths definition.

Oh now this brings back memories of maths. It all makes sense, thanks! It is good in any case that mathematics has nice fixed meanings for things, because semantics sometimes fails in this respect.

In my diary. No idea what redundant books I'll bring, but I'm sure I can find something.
