Book Bring and Buy reminder - Monday 25 September. [Sep. 21st, 2006|12:10 pm]

Last warning for the Book Bring and Buy on Monday! It'll be from 7pm to 10pm at our place in Bermondsey — address details here (if you can't see that post and you want to come, please shout). I'm happy for people not on my friends list to be pointed at this; I like meeting new people.

Bring books you don't want! And adopt books that other people have brought.

I'll do food — will be buffet-style, enough to be your dinner, and available from the start of the evening. Vegans will be catered for by default; let me know if you have some other dietary restriction that I need to take into account.

I'm happy for people to come at the start and stay till the end; or to just pop in briefly to drop off some books; or anything in between.

I wish I'd thought of this earlier, but if anyone wants to participate by post, you might just have enough time to do it (probably only if you're in the UK though). Post books to the address linked above, and I'll post you one/some back.

For friend_of_tofu and anyone else who wants to drop books off in advance to save having to take them to work on Monday, there should be someone in all day on Sunday. There may be someone in at various points on Saturday. There won't be anyone in on Friday evening.

However, if your books are small enough, you could just post them through the letterbox, or if you want to take a chance you could leave them in a bag in the "bin cupboard" to the left of the front door (it's not as manky as it sounds; previous residents kept trash in there but we just keep the recycling there); it doesn't lock, so there's no guarantee that things left there won't go missing, but I think it's unlikely.

Aww, I'm really sorry. I'm kicking myself for not having thought to post this at the start of the week.

There will definitely be another one; the idea seems very popular.

I was going to comment on your house post but forgot! I will go and do it now.

Hi, it was easier in the end to give books to alextiefling to bring along tomorrow. He will probably be rbefore me, I have given him directions, hope that's ok. Sorry I couldn't let you know I wouldn't be coming over sooner, I hope it didn't put anyone out or anything!

No, it's cool, I didn't stay in on purpose or anything, just mentioned the times when there'd be someone in regardless :)
